Glossary of Terms

This glossary defines key terms used throughout the Records Rocket platform and documentation.

Annotation : A user-generated piece of information added to a document, such as a note or a bookmark. Annotations are private to the user who creates them unless explicitly shared.

Case : The central container for an individual medical evaluation. A case holds all related documents, timelines, notes, and reports.

Document : A single, uploaded file, such as a PDF or image of medical records. Each document is processed by our AI to extract its contents.

Event : A single, discrete activity or observation extracted by the AI from the documents. Examples include a provider encounter, a surgery, a lab result, or a prescription. Events are the building blocks of the case timeline.

Finding : A specific piece of evidence extracted by the AI during the report generation process. Each finding consists of the verbatim source text and the AI's contextual analysis. Findings must be reviewed and approved by a user before they can be included in a final report.

IME Assistant : The conversational AI chatbot within Records Rocket. It can answer natural language questions about the case by using specialized tools to search and analyze the case data.

Page : A single page within a document. Each page is individually processed for OCR and is the target for most annotations and source citations.

Report : The final, narrative document generated by the platform. It is synthesized from a collection of user-approved findings and formatted in Markdown for easy editing and export.

Tenant : A customer organization within the Records Rocket platform. All data, including cases, users, and documents, is securely isolated within its own tenant.

Timeline : A dynamic, chronological view of all the Events extracted from a case's documents. It provides a high-level overview of the patient's medical history.
